“The confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the highest court demonstrates hard-earned progress in the moral arc of justice. It has taken 233 years for the first Black woman to take her well-deserved seat on the bench and her representation inspires me and the millions of women and girls witnessing history of her confirmation as the first Black female Justice. The path to progress has not been easy and we must continue to all work together to ensure full representation within the highest levels of public service and the C-Suite so that our circumstances and futures aren’t determined by those who have not lived our experiences. We all stand on the shoulders of those who fought for foundational rights to make this confirmation happen today.”
