STATUTORY REFERENCES: Insurance Law § 308; State Administrative Procedure Act § 401; and 11 NYCRR 31 (Insurance Regulation 94)
On January 25, 2019, the Department of Financial Services (“Department”) issued the attached order of summary suspension (the “Order”) to Superior Service Group Ltd. and Elisha Gottdiener individually and as sublicensee (collectively, “Respondents”).
This Order suspended Respondents’ insurance producer licenses effective on and after January 28, 2019 and until further order of the Superintendent of Financial Services. As a result, Respondents may not sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance, adjust insurance claims, or otherwise act as an insurance agent or broker in New York during the duration of the suspension.
If an insurer authorized to write insurance in New York knows or has reason to believe that Respondents are selling, soliciting, or negotiating insurance, adjusting insurance claims, or acting as an insurance agent or broker in New York in violation of the Order, then the insurer should immediately report such activity to Stephen Doody, Deputy Superintendent for Property/Casualty Insurance, by mail at New York State Department of Financial Services, Property Bureau, One State Street, New York, NY 10004, or by email at [email protected].
