Re: Systematic MGLMAP cessation
Since March 1987 when it began operations., the Miscellaneous General Liability Market Assistance Program (MGLMAP), due to responsible insurers working with producer organizations under the auspices of this Department, has successfully helped numerous small businesses and start-up enterprises in New York State obtain general liability coverage during tight markets.
Now, with improved market conditions, small businesses are generally able to obtain coverage in the voluntary market. Since MGLMAP applications have been received in over a year, MGLMAP will cease operations, according to the following schedule:
(a) starting September 1, 1989, no new MGLMAP business will be accepted; and
(b) on and after November 1, 1989, there will be no renewals through MGLMAP.
