RE: LIENS AGAINST THE PROCEEDS OF FIRE INSURANCE POLICIES
In accordance with the provisions of Chapters 738 and 739, Laws of 1977, which added Section 22 to the General Municipal Law and Section 33-a to the Insurance Law, the following cities, counties and villages have filed with the Insurance Department a notice of intention to claim against fire insurance proceeds. Since said notices are now effective, affected companies are hereby advised that before paying claims on policies issued, reissued or renewed after November 3, 1977, covering property in the respective cities, counties or villages, inquiries regarding a possible lien should be made by contacting the local official noted hereinbelow:
