Ludwig Paul Lyon

Ludwig Paul Lyon was born on September 14, 1886 in St. Johann, Saarbrücken and married Lilly Lyon née David, who died on March 31, 1936 in Berlin.  He resided in Berlin at Prinzenstrasse 14 and worked at the Firma Wertheim, Benno Leser, Leipzigerstrasse and then for the Einkaufsgenossenschaft Rheinisch-Westfälischer Geschäftshäuser (Erwege).  Lyon was arrested by the Gestapo in November 1938 and released on the condition that he emigrate immediately.  He and his son Walter fled on the USS Washington from Le Havre to New York City in February 1939, where they eventually settled in Charlotte, NC.  Lyon died on September 21, 1951.
