Heinrich and Josefine Fast

Heinrich Fast (b. April 6, 1889) was a wealthy Vienna industrialist who owned the factory KAWAFAG Bau Gebr. Schwarzhuber AG in Vienna.  He resided at Gusshausstrasse 10/4 in Vienna with his wife Josefine Fast née Schlamm (b. October 18, 1889) and their two sons Alfred and Walter.  In December 1938 Walter escaped to England on the children’s transport, and Alfred emigrated to the United States.  The Fasts were sent for a time to Dachau, and the contents of their apartment were seized in 1939 and sold at Dorotheum auction house.  Heinrich was released from Dachau after agreeing to sign over his factories to the Reich and fled to Palestine.
