Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Reporting

The following updated instructions, template and attestation should be utilized for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Reporting for the 2021 and 2022 reporting period as required under New York Insurance Law. The data reporting requirement applies to individual, group and blanket policies or contracts that provide comprehensive-type coverage, including coverage provided through the Child Health Plus program, and that are issued by insurers authorized to write accident and health insurance in New York State, corporations organized pursuant to Article 43 of the Insurance Law, and managed care organizations certified pursuant to Article 44 of the Public Health Law (insurers).

Note: Prepaid Health Services Plans (PHSPs) are required to report data related to products offered in the commercial individual market for the specified reporting periods.

The completed reports should be submitted via e-mail to [email protected].  Please use zip files as needed.  If you experience any difficulty in transmitting the completed reports, or if you have any other questions about the Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Act data reporting, please send them to the mental health parity mailbox referenced above.
