Mortgage Loan Servicers-Exempt
As of April 24, 2013
Certain entities are permitted to engage in the business of mortgage loan servicing in New York without being registered as mortgage loan servicers. Exempt entities must still notify the Superintendent that they are engaging in mortgage loan servicing in the state and must also comply with applicable financial and conduct of business rules. These exempt entities include banks, credit unions, mortgage bankers, mortgage brokers and any other person exempted with the written approval of the Superintendent.
